Mold Tooling and Design

In designing the right tool, special consideration is given to areas of the mold that will ultimately affect the final product. Areas such as parting lines and their locations, trim features, the most efficient means of loading and unloading the mold, number of cavities, and ultimately, how it relates to the type of molding methods used. Many times, a customer will partner with us for expertise in designing a product from the ground up as a way to maximize performance and minimize costs.

Types of molds designed:

  • Compression, Transfer or Injection Tooling
  • Single and Multiple Cavity Tools
  • Proactive designs, focused on eliminating inefficiencies

If you are looking for your first prototype part, we can deliver the most economical means of mold construction and processing. If its maximum longevity and reproducibility from your existing tooling, our expert personnel have designed molds still in production for over 20 years!

Could a design change make manufacturing your part more efficient? Could a slight modification make the process faster and save you time and money?

Recently, we worked with one of our customers, a supplier of traffic solution products, who turned to Caliber Industries to modify their current design for efficiency. The result was a reduction in production material and a cost savings of 15%!
